Yaletown Entertainment gets Weird-er

Vancouver: Yaletown Entertainment has doubled its exploration of the bizarre, as new series Weird Wheels joins the ongoing series Weird Homes.

Both are for Life Network.

While Weird Homes explores eccentric homes and homeowners, Weird Wheels will survey odd vehicles and the people who drive them. Thirteen episodes have been ordered for delivery this fall.

Broadcaster Arthur Black, host of Weird Homes, will likely emcee the new series.

‘We continue to enjoy collaborating with the Life Network team and hope that viewing audiences give Weird Wheels the same kind of reception they gave Weird Homes,’ says Yaletown president Mike Collier.

Meanwhile, the Gemini award-winning Weird Homes has been racking up the international sales.

XYZ Entertainment has picked up all 39 completed episodes of Weird Homes for cable broadcast in Australia, while Kenny & Company Entertainment has picked up the first 13 episodes for broadcast in Korea. Great North International is the distributor.

‘Each international sale confirms that we are creating a show which appeals not just to Canadian audiences but to a worldwide audience,’ says Collier.

The company is in production with another 26 episodes of Weird Homes. In February, Groupe tva bought the Canadian French-language rights for the first 13 episodes.

Yaletown shares, which trade on the Canadian Venture Exchange, were recently posting 52-week highs of $0.75. The year low is $0.15.
