Bell Media
Bell Media has picked up the distribution rights to rebooted reality series Temptation Island. The revival, premiering on E! Jan. 15 at 10 p.m., follows the format of the 2001 iteration, which places four couples in paradise and proceeds to test their relationship to see who will go the distance.
In drama news, the company has also landed simulcast rights to the second season of Killing Eve. Bell Media acquired season one of the spy thriller in June of last year and aired it on Bravo on July 22, three months after its U.S. premiere on BBC America. Season two will premiere same date, same time as the U.S. on April 7 at 8 p.m. The series stars Canadian—and recent Golden Globe winner—Sandra Oh as a MI6 agent obsessed with catching unpredictable assassin Villanelle, played by Jodie Comer, who quickly becomes infatuated with Eve herself.
Blue Ant Media
Blue Ant Media has upped its consumer show roster with the acquisition of The Baby Shows, a bi-annual event at Toronto’s Enercare Centre. The company has brought on baby show co-founders Nick Eliades and Sandy Pedrogao to oversee the show’s sales and operations with their existing team, beginning with the spring show on April 6 and 7. The deal bolsters Blue Ant’s consumer show portfolio to seven, with The Baby Show joining Cottage Life shows in Toronto, Ottawa, and Edmonton, as well as the Seasons Christmas Show in Toronto.
eOne

Universal will now handle all of eOne’s theatrical film distribution operations in Australia and New Zealand, beginning in April. The deal covers all marketing and distribution. The Toronto-shot Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, produced by Guillermo Del Toro, is among the slate of films included in the deal.
