Da Vinci, Glory, Angel hunt Leos

Vancouver: Nominations for this year’s Leo Awards highlight the wide cross-section of production in British Columbia. In all, the nominations recognize 74 titles.

cbc series Da Vinci’s Inquest leads the field with 13 nominations, including best drama. Short film A Feeling Called Glory racked up 10 nominations, while My Father’s Angel earned nine nominations in the best picture category. Meanwhile, the New Addams Family collected nine nominations in the best variety series category. Storm Warning topped the nominations in the informational series category and Transformers: Beast Machines is the most nominated animated series. Through a Blue Lens leads the roster of nominees in the best documentary division.

In the local news category, vtv, cbc and Global each have two nominations.

bctv did not enter again this year. Another notable no-show was the hit feature Better than Chocolate.

The awards will be handed out May 6 and May 13.
