Montreal: A summary of this year’s program screening results at MIP-DOC 2000, the parallel documentary market held in conjunction with mip-tv, indicates current affairs and history are the most popular program categories.
The market reports 356 international tv buyers from 53 countries scheduled 8,044 screenings for 1,073 programs submitted by 183 participating companies.
Top categories by the number of screenings were: current affairs, 1,598; history and ethnology, 1,410; discovery and nature, 1,223; arts and music, 1,166; adventure and travel, 823; science and knowledge, 751; lifestyle, 619; point-of-view topics, 323; and educational, 131.
No Canadian doc titles and no Canadian distribs were listed among the top 10 programs screened at mip-doc.
