Vancouver: Believing that post-production sound is the next emerging market in b.c.’s film and television industry, Post Modern Sound of Vancouver is expanding its audio post facilities.

The $4.5-million addition next to its existing facilities on West 2nd Avenue includes the construction of a large feature film mixing theatre, two adr recording stages, a dedicated foley stage, and additional editing suites and administrative offices.

The new mixing theatre will be equipped with a Euphonix System 5 digital mixing console with capacity for more than 600 inputs. The expansion is also focused on supplying the high-definition and digital markets.

The expansion is to be phased in, with some work complete this October and the rest complete in fall 2001. Ian Edwards
