Montreal: Cinar Corp. announced a new lineup of licensees, products and promotions for two of its top-rated preschool series, Caillou and Zoboomafoo, at Licensing International 2000, held June 13-15 in New York.
Caillou, a mix of live action, animation and documentary footage, will launch on the PBS Kids Ready to Learn block in September. Coming fall promotions include on-air spots and a comprehensive outreach and Ready to Learn program, including ‘Can Do with Caillou’ learning packs made up of workshop materials, program guides and kids-club newsletters.
Caillou’s u.s. merchandising launch is planned for fall 2001.
Licensees include PBS Kids Home Video (entertainment), Brighter Child Interactive (cd-roms), Cinar/Chouette Storybooks (publishing), UNIQUE Party Goods (party goods), C.B.N. – One of the Boys (apparel), Gurilla Biscuit Co. (fashion accessories), Changes T-shirts, Playfully Yours (home fashions) and Jay Franco (home fashions).
pbs has also announced extensive promotions for the wildlife series Zoboomafoo, hosted by real-life animal adventurers Martin and Chris Kratt.
The pbs campaign includes family activity booklets offered to all network stations, exclusive retail promotions including in-store giveaways, a revamped Zoboomafoo website and a special rotation initiative called ‘New Zoboomafoo Tuesdays.’
Zoboomafoo’s new licensing activity includes an October 2000 cd-rom launch by Brighter Child Interactive, a line of home products by Baby Boom, melamine tableware by ABC Development and apparel by Changes.
PBS Kids in association with pbs and Warner Home Video will launch two new Zoboomafoo home videos in September.
