Filmed at Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal this week, the Bell Media-owned specialty will air 13 hours of comedy, beginning with Homegrown Comics on Sept. 3 at 9 p.m.

The festival’s long-running showcase of Canadian comedians will be hosted by Letterkenny‘s K. Trevor Wilson (pictured left, in Letterkenny season 3). Produced for TV for the first time ever, the one-hour special will feature up-and-coming talent like Adrienne Fish, Nick Nemeroff and Hoodo Hersi.

Comedy Network will also premiere a new comedy series, The Stand-Up Show with Katherine Ryan (w/t). The eight-episode, hour-long series, hosted by the Canadian comic, will feature a lineup of comedians including Graham Chittenden, Dave Merheje and Aisha Brown. It will film at Montreal’s L’Astral throughout the week, with back-to-back tapings each night. The show is slated for a fall release.

Comedy Network will also premiere The Trevor Noah Galas (2 x 60 minutes) in 2019, and The Jeff Dunham Galas (2 x 60 minutes) in the fall. Both specials will film at the comedians’ JFL sets at Motnreal’s Place des Arts.

The new series and specials are produced by Just For Laughs Television.
