John Young is the new managing director at Temple Street Productions, the Toronto company announced on Wednesday. The appointment is effective immediately.
Reporting to co-presidents Ivan Schneeberg and David Fortier, Young will oversee the company’s day-to-day business operations while seeking and implementing corporate growth initiatives.
A lawyer by trade, Young was managing director at the OMERS pension fund private equity group for six years prior to joining Temple Street. He has served on the board of the prodco since 2008, and is also vice-chairman of the Toronto International Film Festival Group’s steering committee.
‘John’s hiring is a coup for Temple Street,’ commented Schneeberg and Fortier in a release, adding that his addition ‘will allow for improved efficiencies and more focused strategic growth, helping Temple Street better achieve its long held goal of producing the highest quality entertainment properties possible.’
Temple Street’s list of credits includes comedy drama Being Erica, and realities Canada’s Next Top Model, and How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?
