Gill, Pearson, McLachlan snag CSCs

The Canadian Society of Cinematographers feted Canuck directors of photography at the 2001 CSC Awards March 31 at the Westin Prince Hotel in Toronto. Montreal-based Pierre Gill won in the category of theatrical feature for his work on the flashy action thriller The Art of War, shot in his hometown.

For TV series, Brian Pearson took home the prize for the ‘Cold Comfort’ episode of the Fox sci-fi drama Dark Angel (cocreated and exec produced by James Cameron), which is filmed in North Vancouver. In that same neck of the woods, Robert McLachlan, a multiple-nominee, won for TV drama for The Lone Gunmen, the Fox spin-off of The X-Files.
