The nominations for the Golden Sheafs, to be awarded at the Yorkton Short Film and Video Festival (May 24-27), are out and include multi-nominations for some filmmakers, making them odds-on favorites for taking home at least one prize.
Nominations in the more than 30 categories were dominated by Momentum, which is up for seven Golden Sheafs for Moon Palace, in the categories of direction (drama), drama script, art direction, editing and performance by a male (for which it has two nominations, for actors Henry Chan and Chad E. Donella).
Nominees in the best of Saskatchewan category are Partners in Motion for two productions: 13 Seconds: The Kent State Shootings and Men of Valour: Heroes of the Victoria Cross. Four Square Canada is up for Blueberry; Cinepost Production for Rogues, Heroes and Adventurers; the disbanded Heartland Motion Pictures for Which Way to the Gig?; and Sharper Image Film and Video Productions for Trombone: the Voice of God. *
