* The Canadian Television Fund board of directors has confirmed Garry Toth as its president and a CEO to oversee the fund’s operations.
The CTF was asked by the government to confirm a CEO position to create greater accountability and better co-ordination.
‘The government’s interest in seeing the fund operate in a more private-sector style is clearly a recognition of the success of the CTF’s public-private partnership,’ says Richard Stursberg, CTF chair. ‘After a careful review of operations it was obvious to everyone that we already had our CEO in Garry Toth, who has guided the fund through some of its most difficult years to what is now a model the government points to as a success.’
Louise Baillargeon becomes the VP of the LFP, and will operate from the CTF’s Montreal office.
