Unscripted prodco Proper Television has revealed a number of changes to its senior team, including the promotion of exec producer Allison Grace (pictured) to VP of content.
As well, senior line producer Jackie Frank has been upped to director of production and Mike Armitage, who is returning to Toronto-based Proper after serving as head of development at Banger Films, has been named director of development.
“It’s been a year of change at Proper, but with the continued guidance and support of our parent company Boat Rocker Media, we’re entering into our most productive period ever,” said co-presidents Cathie James and Lesia Capone in a statement.
In September, Boat Rocker acquired both Proper TV and its international distribution arm Proper Rights for an undisclosed fee. Through the acquisition, Proper has continued to operate as a separate entity from its new parent company.
Grace, whose executive producer credits include Billy Goes North (CMT, A&E), Tougher Than It Looks (Discovery Canada and US), and True North Calling (CBC), joined Proper in 2014 following stints with HGTV, Food Network and Slice as a production executive. Meanwhile Frank, who has been with the company since 2005, has previously worked on Canada’s Worst Driver (Discovery), Come Dine with Me Canada (W Network) and Storage Wars Canada (OLN, A&E). Armitage, who was formerly a head of production at Antica Films, has previously helmed development on Proper shows including Last Stop Garage (Discovery Canada, Discovery Europe, and Velocity) and Under New Management (CBC).
