Digital Domain names B.C. management team

Digital Domain’s Vancouver studio has opened its doors and on Tuesday appointed visual effects veteran Troy Brooks as studio manager, effective immediately.

Brooks will report to feature film boss Gloria Borders at the California-based company’s new B.C. location, which officially opened for business last week. Digital Domain also named Arin Finger and Tim Belsher as studio producer and pipeline supervisor, respectively, while Darren Poe will serve as digital supervisor. They will report to Brooks.

‘Digital Domain has long been a leader in visual effects and animation. For one of the industry’s premier innovators to have a presence in this community is a perfect fit, and I’m thrilled to be leading the charge,’ commented Brooks in a release.

Prior to joining the company, Brooks was co-founder and CEO of Honolulu, Hawaii-based PipelineFX, where he oversaw technology development and provided consulting to film studios on pipeline workflow.

Digital Domain Vancouver is currently working on Disney’s Tron Legacy, and will soon start on Marvel Studios’ Thor, based on the comic book hero. The company, with headquarters in Venice, CA, has worked on feature films including The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which earned it an Academy Award for achievement in visual effects last year.
