Canadian LGBTQI+ network OUTtv is expanding to New Zealand.
OUTtv will now be offered as a channel on TVNZ’s OnDemand platform. The New Zealand broadcaster picked up the streaming rights to OUTtv’s content as well as the use of its brand, through a deal negotiated by OUTtv CEO Brad Danks and the TVNZ team.
OUTtv series include The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula, Knock Knock Ghost and Broke Straight Boys. New OUTtv series, movies and documentaries will roll out monthly on TVNZ’s ad-supported, free platform. In March, new series that will be added include Hey Qween and Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best?
OUTtv plans to launch into other markets later this year and currently offers its own subscription streaming service in Canada, OUTtvGo.
While OUTtv would not provide subscription numbers, a release states that the channel and SVOD service have seen subscriptions increase 450% year-over-year.
