TVO greenlights more Science Max

The kids factual series, produced by Breakthrough Entertainment, will premiere on the public broadcaster in the fall.

TVO has given a season-three greenlight to the kids factual series Science Max: Experiments at Large.

The show, which won a pair of Canadian Screen Awards last year for Best Children’s or Youth Non-Fiction Series and Best Cross-Platform Project – Children’s and Youth, will return to TVO in fall 2018. The greenlight announcement follows yesterday’s news that the show is up for a 2018 CSA award in the Best Children’s or Youth Non-Fiction Series category.

Produced and distributed by Toronto’s Breakthrough Entertainment, the show sees host Phil McCordic demonstrate how children can do science experiments at home.

TVO initially greenlit the series, aimed at 7-to-11-year-old audiences, in April 2015. Breakthrough also produced an interactive companion piece to the series, Science Max Interactive, in which viewers of the show can learn about the show’s experiments through online games, trivia and downloadable content.
