* Raynald Briere is the new president and CEO of Montreal-based broadcast/media company Groupe TVA, owned by Quebecor Media. A communications industry veteran for more than 30 years, Briere has been Reseau TVA’s senior VP of broadcasting and executive director since 1998.
* Ken Faier has been promoted to vice-president, production, distribution and licensing at AAC Kids.
In this new position, Faier will be responsible for developing and implementing the overall strategy for AAC Kids, including all aspects of production and distribution, as well as overseeing merchandising and licensing.
* Jerry McIntosh has been appointed director of CBC’s newly integrated documentary unit, responsible for commissioning independent productions for CBC’s doc series and specials.
McIntosh was formerly the executive producer of documentaries at CBC Newsworld and a key figure in the launch of Rough Cuts and the Canadian Documentary Channel.
* Jack Fleischmann has been appointed general manager, RobTv. Fleischmann, a former CTV producer, was previously an executive producer with the channel.
* Longtime Telemedia executive Mario Cecchini has been appointed VP network sales at Television Quatre Saisons, a Cogeco/Bell Globemedia joint venture.
* Stephane Lestage has taken on a consultant role in post-production with Montreal-based technical services company Covitec. Lestage is president of the Film Quebec promotions/lobby group.
Former Cinar Studios manager Peter J. Alves has been named director, post-production operations at Covitec.
