* Montreal-based EVP Benoit Hogue has been named president of Groupe Moliflex-White, a Comweb group company specializing in equipment and studio rental services.

* Award-winning journalist Robert Hurst has been appointed president of CTV News. Hurst has been with CTV News for more than 28 years, most recently as senior VP and GM of BC CTV.

Hurst replaces Kirk LaPointe, who resigned to pursue other interests.

* Industry veteran Yves Dion has joined Equinox Films. Dion’s responsibilities include seeking new film and TV projects as well as assisting with film acquisition and distribution activities. Dion is former president of Blackwatch Releasing and was president of Malofilm Distribution for 14 years.

Equinox also announced Karene Rietschin will manage communications for the Quebec market.

* Domestic distributor TVA Films has appointed John Fulton executive director of distribution. Previously, as director of Telefilm Canada’s Toronto feature film unit for five years, Fulton oversaw Telefilm’s involvement in homegrown features from development to theatrical release. He has also served as director of international sales for Norstar Entertainment.

* Andre Beaudet becomes director-general of communications, French services at Radio-Canada. Beaudet’s duties cover radio, new media, internal and regional communications as well as PR and audience relations for the TV network.

* Producer Richard Haddad is the new head of the TV division at Max Films Television.

* Colette Loumede has been appointed executive producer of Studio A (formerly known as the Societes et Sciences Documentary Studio) of the French Program of the National Film Board.

Loumede has worked in the industry since 1984, primarily as a producer. Most recently she served as development producer for the Productions Thalie short film series Entree cote court! and as a project manager for Quebec cultural funding agency SODEC.

She takes over from Eric Michel, who was promoted in early 2002 to head the NFB’s international coproduction unit.

Loumede begins her new duties Oct. 15.

* Mike McConnell is joining Toronto post-production facility Tattersall Casablanca as sales director. Previously he was post-production manager and director of sales at Toronto shop Stonehenge, where he developed sales for the company’s high-definition suite. McConnell has also been the sales manager at The Partners’ Film Company and Magnetic North.

* Former Quebec government civil servant Martine Allard has been appointed chair of the board of directors of Societe de Telediffusion du Quebec, Tele-Quebec.
