TVO is set to premiere Christopher Wynn and Russell Gienapp’s Much Too Young on Sept. 21.
The documentary, produced by Toronto’s Nomad Films, examines the effect young-onset Alzheimers has on four different families. The film’s broadcast debut is timed to coincide with World Alzheimer’s Day. It will also be available on TVO’s website Sept. 22 and on Knowledge Network in 2018.
The film is produced by Nomad’s Amanda Handy and Mark Johnston.
In addition to the documentary, Nomad has partnered with Toronto-based VR film studio The Digital Generals to create four VR experiences and a mobile app that delve deeper into the issue. The four VR shorts allow users to enter the Fraschetti family’s home and explore the difficulties of daily life for Moira, who is living with the disease, and for Moira’s caregivers.
Much Too Young was made in association with TVO and The Knowledge Network, with the participation of the TELUS Fund and the Canadian Media Fund, and with the assistance of provincial and federal tax credits.
