Sarah Chalke is returning to ABC to topline the sitcom pilot Freshmen.

Ottawa-born Chalke, who leveraged a starring role in Alliance Atlantis’ 1998 series Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy to land a starring role on ABC’s Scrubs for eight seasons, returns to the Alphabet channel for a multi-camera pilot from 20th Century TV about three freshmen members of the U.S. Congress — one woman and two men — who live together in a house.

Chalke will play the rookie congresswoman who proves far better at politics than in her personal life.

Freshmen is produced by Greg Malins, exec producer of How I Met Your Mother, a CBS and 20th Century Fox sitcom Chalke co-starred in, and Arianna Huffington.
