Toronto software manufacturer ALIAS|Wavefront has been awarded an Oscar for its Maya 3D professional animation and F/X software. Academy Award winners for scientific and technical achievement were announced early this month, and the ceremony will be held on March 1 at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel in L.A.
