Stuart C. Snyder has been appointed president and CEO of Cinar Corp.

Snyder is the former president and COO of WWF Entertainment, where he was also active in the development of film and TV projects, including Universal Pictures’ The Scorpion King and MTV’s WWF Tough Enough. He has held senior management positions with USA Home Entertainment, a division of USA Networks, and was involved in the development, production and evaluation of acquisitions for USA Films, with live family entertainment producer Feld Entertainment and with Turner Home Entertainment.

He earlier held senior sales and marketing positions with MGM/UA Home Entertainment and Live Home Video/Carolco Pictures.

Synder takes over from Barrie Usher, who resigned as president and CEO Sept. 15, 2002. Snyder assumed his new duties with Cinar Feb. 12.
