The Independent Production Fund has announced decisions for its February round of applications. Equity financing will go to 14 productions including Alliance Atlantis Communications’ The Eleventh Hour, Barna-Alper Productions’ Blue Murder and Degrassi: The Next Generation from Epitome Pictures. Funding was split evenly between English- and French-language productions.
Professional development grants went to the Canadian Screen Training Centre’s Summer Institute of Film and Television and the Atlantic Film Festival’s industry series.
The IPF-managed Cogeco Program Development Fund also approved eight development loans for productions including From Gold to Dust: The Bre-X Story from Anaid Productions, and Citizen Tipster from Watchdog Productions.
Cogeco also okayed five projects for production investment, including Trudeau II from Big Motion Pictures.
