Judy Gladstone named executive director of DOC

She will replace the Documentary Organization of Canada's outgoing exec director Pepita Ferrari.

judy gladstoneThe Documentary Organization of Canada (DOC) has named Judy Gladstone as its new executive director.

Gladstone, the former exec director of short-film fund BravoFACT from 1997 to 2011, replaces the outgoing exec director Pepita Ferrari, who assumed the role in 2015. Ferrari’s directing credits include the NFB doc Capturing Reality: The Art of Documentary.

In the role, Gladstone will be tasked with advocating on behalf of doc creators and producers to strengthen the domestic industry.

Her exec producer credits include a number of BravoFACT short films such as Dirty Dog, produced by marblemedia and the National Film Board (NFB), and Denis Villeneuve-directed 120 Seconds to Get Elected, also produced by marblemedia and the NFB.

Outside of DOC, Gladstone also serves as chair of Sheridan College’s Advanced Television Film Program Advisory Committee and as chair of Toronto-based Square Circle.
