Production is underway in Toronto on CBC’s upcoming half-hour comedy Crawford.
The unconventional family comedy series hails from Trailer Park Boys creator Mike Clattenburg and was co-created by recording artist Mike O’Neill.
Produced by Clattenburg and Laura Michalchyshyn’s Rabbit Square Productions, the series was greenlit by CBC and Comedy Central in the U.S. in October of last year. It’s set to air on the pubcaster in winter 2018.
Crawford follows a failed recording artist who moves back in with his parents and turns his compassion for raccoons into a successful business. It stars Jill Hennessy (Crossing Jordan), Kyle Mac (21 Thunder), Daniel Davis Yang (Riverdale), Alisce Moran (Man Seeking Woman) and John Carroll Lynch (American Horror Story).
The series is executive produced by Michalchyshyn and Clattenburg (pictured). Janice Dawe and Kathy Avrich-Johnson are co-executive producers for Bizable Media (Saving Hope).
Clattenburg also serves as a writer on the series, alongside co-creator O’Neill (Trailer Park Boys: Don’t Legalize It), Zoe Whittall (Baroness von Sketch Show), Kathleen Phillips-Locke (Sunnyside), Monica Heisey (Baroness Von Sketch Show) and Timm Hannebohm (Trailer Park Boys: Countdown to Liquor Day).
The comedy is produced with the participation of the Canada Media Fund. Content Media handles international distribution for the series.
