Seven Canadian titles added to Palm Springs lineup

Among them is Xavier Dolan's Canada/France copro Juste la fin du monde, which will screen in the California festival's Awards Buzz program.

Seven Canadian features have been added to the lineup for the 2017 Palm Springs International Film Festival, including Chloé Robichaud’s French-language feature Pays (Boundaries) and Juan Andrés Arango’s Spanish-language film X Quinientos (Canada/Colombia/Mexico).

Robichaud’s project will screen in the New Voices/New Visions program, while Arango’s makes its U.S. premiere in the World Cinema Now program alongside Zacharias Kunuk’s Maliglutit (“Searchers”) and Anne Émond’s Nelly

Xavier Dolan’s Juste la fin du monde (“It’s Only the End of the World”) will also screen at the California festival, where the Canada/France copro will compete for the FIPRESCI prize in the Awards Buzz program.

Meanwhile, both Anjali Nayar’s Gun Runners and Nettie Wild’s English-language KONELĪNE: our land beautiful make their U.S. premieres in the True Stories program.

Among the Canadian directors attending the festival are Dolan, Émond, Robichaud and Wild.

The 28th edition of Palm Springs International Film Festival runs from Jan. 2 to 16.
