Shutting down its Entertainment Group has turned out to be more complicated than expected, and has again forced Alliance Atlantis Communications to delay delivery of its year-end report for fiscal 2003. The Toronto media giant now says the report, previously scheduled for April 5 and, then, April 23, will be out no later than May 17, although it has not set a specific date.
‘The sheer volume and complexity of the work is the direct and sole reason for the delay,’ said CFO and senior EVP Judson Martin in a statement.
The company recently dissolved its entertainment, broadcasting and corporate groups, reforming into a single unit. Former broadcast boss Phyllis Yaffe is now COO of AAC, reporting to chairman and CEO Michael MacMillan. Ted Riley continues to head international TV distribution from his office in Ireland, although his entertainment group is no more.
The shuffle does not affect AAC’s Motion Picture Distribution Limited Partnership, still headed by Victor Loewy.
