Playback‘s second Marketing Summit took place at the Toronto’s Brum and Bluma Appel Salon Tuesday, with delegates from both the production and marketing sectors exchanging notes on where and how the two worlds intersect. The day-long event saw three keynote presentations, from Level 5 founder David Kincaid, TBWA\Chiat\Day CEO Rob Schwartz and Content Marketing Institute’s chief strategist Robert Rose, as well as digital deep dives from Juniper Park/TBWA chief strategy officer Mark Tomblin and PepsiCo Foods Canada’s senior director of marketing Susan Irving.

The event also saw top advertising execs providing feedback on three projects in the Amp My Plan pitch contest. Judges heard about Jeff Kopas’ finished feature The Bequest, Rebecca Gibson’s in-development movie Jane Garbage and Evan Jones’ interactive project Together Tales, with Jones receiving the highest score on the scorecards and winning the prize of one-on-one marketing mentoring as the project moves forward.
