Blue Ant International has announced a raft of new and expanded distribution agreements, including freshly inked deals with Vancouver-based Anaid Productions and Calgary’s Pyramid Productions.
Blue Ant acquired more than 200 hours of content from Anaid, including The Liquidator (91 x 30 minutes) and football-based reality series Hail Mary (11 x 30 minutes), while the company also picked up two documentaries from Pyramid: The Salvation of Todd Bentley (1 x 90 minutes) Goalie: Life In The Crease (1 x 90 minutes).
Building on a recently signed production and distribution output deal with CMJ Productions II, Blue Ant also acquired Boogeymen (26 x 60 minutes), Bad Trip (13 x 60 minutes) and Home Made (26 x 60 minutes) from the Montreal-based factual producer.
According to Blue Ant, the company will bring its largest ever slate to MIPCOM, with more than 600 hours of content set to be shopped at the global content market.
Included in Blue Ant’s lineup are a number of docs produced by Plimsoll Productions, including The Big Dry (3 x 60 minutes), Guardians of the Wild (5 x 60 minutes), Tales from Zambia (7 x 60 minutes) and Africa’s Hunters (6 x 60 minutes). The content was produced through a deal between Blue Ant’s Love Nature brand, Smithsonian Earth and Plimsoll, which was inked earlier this year.
In addition, Blue Ant acquired Good Taste: Chinese (50 x 30minutes) and Good Taste: South Asian (50 x 30 minutes) from Spotlight Productions, as well as Showtime documentary The Mind of Mark DeFriest (1 x 90 minutes), produced by DeFriest Project.
