DHX Media has signed seven more broadcast deals with international networks for its new Teletubbies series.
The news comes just a day after DHX Brands, the brand management and consumer products arm of DHX Media, announced its partnership with Paragon Creative to create new themed attractions for Teletubbies and other popular properties.
The new broadcast licensees for the preschool series are SRC in Canada, POP TV (Slovenia), TV3 (Ireland), HRT (Croatia), Medialaan (Belgium), MTG (Lithuania), and NRK (Norway, for Sami language).
The newly announced deals bring the total number of broadcasters for the series up to 23.
Teletubbies is DHX Brands’ flagship property. To date, the company has signed more than 85 merch deals for the IP, 20 of which have been signed since May.
Earlier this month, DHX Brands added 10 new U.K. licensees for the property, and in June DHX partnered with Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing to produce new Teletubbies books.
DHX Media’s Teletubbies series debuted last November on CBeebies, and it launched in May on Family Jr. in Canada and on Nick Jr. in the U.S.
