The Passenger heads to Japan
Montreal – French director François Rotger recently completed principal photography on the Quebec portion of his first long-format film, The Passenger. The feature is a Canada/France coproduction from Montreal-based Les Films de l’Isle and Aviva Communications and France’s Les Films à un dollar. Films de l’Isle’s Ian Boyd produces with executive producers Nicolas Comeau and Stephane Raymond.
Shooting in and around Montreal ran Nov. 27 to Dec. 21, 2004, with additional shooting to take place in Japan. The feature is about a young Japanese man who begins to rebuild broken family ties by travelling to Canada in search of a man who stole money from his father. It stars Yusuke Iseya, Gabrielle Lazure and François Trottier. Laura Bracken
