Toronto-based Proper Rights has announced 10 Canadian and international sales, including deals with CBC News Network and CHCH.
CBC News network took the licensing rights to two-part documentary Justice for MLK: The Hunt for James Earl Ray (2 x 60 minutes and 1 x 90 minutes), produced by Toronto-based Cream Productions. The documentary tells the story of the search for Martin Luther King’s killer.
Hamilton-based CHCH picked up Firvalley Productions’ Killer Comebacks (26 x 30 minutes), about Hollywood stars who have reinvigorated their faded careers.
For French Canada, RDI picked up For the Love of Their Brother (1 x 60 minutes), a 9/11 documentary produced by 3 Roads Communications.
Internationally, Proper Rights secured deals with Discovery Benelux for season two of Proper Television’s Vegas Rat Rods (10 x 60 minutes), as well as deals with Fox International Channels for seasons one and 2 (both 6 x 60 minutes) of Proper Television’s Don’t Drive Here in Finland, and season two in Spain.
Make It Right’s Holmes + Holmes (6 x 60 minutes) renovation series was picked up by Foxtel in Australia, and the TV company also renewed their entire Mike Holmes library, which consists of four series.
Discovery Networks Asia also purchased the licensing rights to Holmes + Holmes for New Zealand. And in Germany, Prosiebensat1 picked up the Proper Television-produced docu-drama series, Hardcore Heroes (6 x 60 minutes).
