Final days of Final Days
Burnaby, BC – The Hallmark Entertainment mini Final Days of Planet Earth is set to wrap early next month, ending an eight-week stay in B.C. The 2 x 120 sci-fi stars Gil Bellows (Ally McBeal), Suleka Mathew (Da Vinci’s Inquest), Campbell Scott (The Exorcism of Emily Rose) and Daryl Hannah as a group of scientists and astronauts caught up in an invasion by alien insects.
Rob Lieberman (Legend of Earthsea) directs under producers Robert Halmi Sr., Matthew O’Connor and Michael O’Connor, all alums of the B.C.-shot Legend of Earthsea. Tom Burstyn (Terminal City, The 4400) is DOP. A broadcaster and airdate have not been set. Sean Davidson
Lions Gate home to Invisible shoot
Vancouver – L.A.’s Spyglass Entertainment has sent David S. Goyer north to shoot the supernatural thriller The Invisible, now underway at Lions Gate Studios until December. Reworked from the story of a 2002 Swedish movie, the pic follows a young man who is attacked and left for dead, leaving his spirit to bring help before his body dies. Justin Chatwin (War of the Worlds) stars with Chris Marquette (Graduation) and Margarita Levieva.
The script by Mick Davis, adapted from the Mats Wahl novel, was turned into the Swedish thriller Den Osynlige. The Invisible is due in theaters through Touchstone Pictures next year. Sean Davidson
