Muse takes the Back Alley

Toronto – Montreal’s Muse Entertainment is partnering with Toronto production house Back Alley Film Productions on two television projects.

The first, currently in development, is the one-hour drama Durham County 401 for The Movie Network, Movie Central and CHUM, about the relationship between a detective and the family of a serial killer. Laurie Finstead (Bliss) penned the pilot.

Muse and Back Alley will team again for the Global sitcom Delicious!, written by Adam Pettle and Diane Flacks (Sibs), about a cooking show forced to whip up some sex appeal or face cancellation.

Muse president Michael Prupas says he has been impressed by Back Alley’s work on projects such as the racy Showcase series Bliss, coproduced by Montreal’s Galafilm.

‘They came to me with a couple of very good ideas for series,’ says Prupas.

There is no word yet when the projects might begin filming, but, according to Prupas, some of Durham County will be shot in Durham County, near Toronto. Ottawa is being considered as a location as well.
