Toronto-based Hero Artists Talent Agency has announced the launch of a Vancouver office, appointing Jessica Brown to run the West Coast outpost.
While the official announcement was made Tuesday, Hero Artists Vancouver first opened its doors in June 2015, about three years after the launch of the original Toronto office. Prior to joining Hero Artists, Brown was professional actor for 15 years. She has also worked as a writer, and as an assistant to casting directors and talent agents.
Bookings out of the Vancouver office thus far include Voytek Skrzeta, who will guest star in two episodes of CW’s DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and Gina Leon, who appears in Bravo original series Girlfriends Guide to Divorce. Overall, Brown said the agency is aiming to have clients and work move seamlessly between the West Coast and East Coast offices.
“Our goal is to create a bridge between our talent in the East and West Coasts and be able to service them in both areas successfully and cohesively,” Brown told Playback Daily.
Actors the agency currently represents out of its Toronto office include Sangita Patel, who will appear in Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming feature Story of Your Life, and Chantal Kreviazuk, who landed a lead role in Sean Cisterna’s upcoming feature Kiss and Cry. While the agency currently only represents actors, there are plans to expand its roster to include producers, writers and directors.
