* Tom Haberstroh is the new VP and GM of CTV British Columbia. Haberstroh has been at the net for 23 years as an executive producer, field producer and, most recently, VP of CTV News.

* Susan Makela has been promoted to director of program funds and policy at Corus Television, moving up from a manager post in business affairs.

* Robert Sirman has been appointed director of the Canada Council for the Arts. Over his 31-year career, Sirman has served as director of operations for the Ontario Arts Council, and administrative director at the National Ballet School of Canada.

* Lynne Skromeda is the new VP of Frantic Films’ live-action division, promoted from producer.

* Jeremy McCarthy is CHUM’s new affiliate marketing manager, joining after similar posts at Alliance Atlantis and Bell ExpressVu. Meanwhile, Donia Bloxam has been promoted to director of affiliate sales, and Kevin Noel has been upped to manager of affiliate financial systems and analysis.

* Sue Sheridan is interim executive director at Women in Film and Television – Toronto, filling in for Kate Hanley, who resigned in April. Sheridan joined WIFT-T last year as its director of programming development.

* Donna Custance has been hired at Travel Shop Television as senior VP of programming, production and marketing. Custance joins from ad firm Arnold Worldwide, where she was VP, group account director.

* Vancouver animation house Studio B Productions has taken on consultant Catherine Warren to help build its new media side. Warren is president of FanTrust Entertainment Strategies, already retained by CBC, Nokia and others.
