Vancouver – U.S. prodcos Industry Entertainment and IDT Entertainment are shooting the first season of Masters of Science Fiction for ABC in Vancouver. The anthology series is a spinoff of the similar Masters of Horror series currently shooting its second season nearby for Showtime.

The 6 x 60 Science Fiction eps are based on the works of influential writers including Isaac Asimov and Harlan Ellison, with Mark Rydell (James Dean), Michael Tolkin (Deep Impact) and Michael Petroni (Queen of the Damned) among the directors. The series is being executive produced by Brad Mendelsohn (The 24th Day), Andrew Deane (Joan of Arc), Keith Addis (Masters of Horror), Morris Berger (Room 6), Steve Brown and John Hyde (The Happy Elf ). The shoot runs until early August.

Season two of Masters of Horror began in early April and will shoot into October.
