Toronto's Hiltz Squared Media has acquired the Oscar-nominated short documentary 50 Feet From Syria (pictured), plus more deals of the week.

Hiltz Squared Media
Toronto producer and distributor Hiltz Squared Media has acquired the global TV rights to Oscar-nominated short documentary 50 Feet From Syria. Produced by U.S. filmmaker Skye Fitzgerald, the doc tells the story of a Syrian-American surgeon working amidst the chaos of the Syrian refugee crisis.

Quebecor Content
Quebecor Content has acquired the rights to CBS Studios International drama series Limitless. The show is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with K/O Paper Products and Relativity Television, and will be broadcast in French Canada on TVA Network and will stream on the Club Illico subscription service. The series airs on Global in English Canada.

Media Headquarters
Electus has sold the format rights to factual entertainment series Canada’s Smartest Person into four territories, including to Fremantle in France and Portugal. Read more about the deal here.

U.S. cable net Animal Planet and producer-distributor Lionsgate have picked up the documentary Million Dollar Duck via the Slamdance Film Festival. Read more about the deal here.
