Toronto critics, industry execs and Canadian filmmakers gathered at The Carlu in Toronto last week to celebrate the annual Toronto Film Critics Association gala. One of the year’s most easygoing galas, the evening saw Cameron Bailey host, previous award winning Matt Johnson take the stage to briefly MC, Deepa Mehta win over the crowd with a lovely speech in recognition of her Technicolor Clyde Gilmour Award and, as always, Brian D Johnson’s always-enjoyable”F**king Montage” recap of the year in film.
