Canadian director Matt Johnson‘s Operation Avalanche and the France/Canada/Israel/Germany copro The Settlers will screen in the 2016 edition of the Sundance Film Festival.
Operation Avalanche is a USA/Canada copro, which Johnson also co-wrote with Josh Boles. The feature, set in 1967, tells the story of four undercover CIA agents who are sent to NASA posing as documentary filmmakers, and the conspiracy they undercover. Johnson and Boles will also star in the film, along with Owen Williams and Ray James.
Operation Avalanche will have its world premiere at Sundance, screening in the Next program.
The Settlers, directed by Shimon Dotan, will screen in the World Cinema Documentary Competition. The doc, which will have its world bow at Sundance, looks at Jewish settlements in the West Bank.
The 2016 Sundance Film Festival runs from Jan. 21 to Jan. 31 in Park City, Utah.
