Seville International has picked up the international sales rights to Xavier Dolan’s English-language debut, The Death and Life of John F. Donovan, with Entertainment One and Les Films Seville to distribute the film in Canada and Quebec.
Seville International will launch sales of John F. Donovan at the upcoming American Film Market. Seville will handle the global sales of the film for all territories outside of France, where sales will jointly be handled by Seville and the producers, and the U.S., where CAA is handling sales.
The feature is co-written, directed and produced by Dolan (with Jacob Tierney co-writing), with Lyla Films’ Lyse Lafontaine and Sons of Manual’s Nancy Grant also producing. Joe Iacono will executive produce. Set to star in John F. Donovan are Kit Harington, Jessica Chastain, Susan Sarandon and Kathy Bates.
The sales and distribution deal was negotiated by Lafontaine, Dolan and Iacono with Xavier Marchand, president of eOne Features, Patrick Roy, president of eOne films Canada and Les Films Seville, Anick Poirier, VP international sales at Seville International, and CAA.
Dolan is repped by CAA and Thor Bradwell of LBI Entertainment. Chastain is represented by CAA and Mosaci, while Harington is represented by CAA and United Agents.
