The National Screen Institute has awarded four films prizes following the latest round of judging for the NSI Online Short Film Festival, including projects from Aidan Shipley and Hannah Yohannes.
Shipley won the A&E Short Filmmakers Award for best film overall for the drama Dorsal, which comes with a cash prize of $1,250. Yohannes won the Shaw Media Fearless Female Directors Award for her short Home Away. The award recognizes the best female-directed film.
Elsewhere, Tyler Parr took home the $1,000 Brian Linehan Actors Award for his part in Ironied, while Joe Pingue was awarded the Bite Comedy Award for Chili & Cheese: A Condimental Rift. The prize comes with a $750 cash award.
The winners were selected by an independent jury made up of Harold Greenberg Fund president John Galway, programmer Agata Del Sorbo and Athena Han, who won the most recent A&E Short Filmmaker Award for her film Home.
