Montreal – Talent and CG from Montreal’s Carpediem Film and TV will combine with footage from Australia to make Stormworld, a 26 x 30 sci-fi series in the works for Australia’s Nine Network and Space.
The Montreal production house (My Life Me) is coproducing the project with Australia’s Great Western Entertainment (Wikkid, Parallax), providing main and secondary actors, a narrator and three weeks of green-screen work, says VP Normand Thauvette.
‘For us this is a first,’ he says.
The project will shoot in Australia this summer, from June to October, under directors Mark DeFriest (Ocean Girl) and Edward McQueen-Mason, following two friends as they are flung into a hostile, parallel universe. Daro Distribution will sell internationally.
