DHX has brought on board a new VP of programming to oversee strategic development, execution and promotion of media co’s TV channels.

Former CBC senior director Michael Serafini joins the company as VP of programming, where he’ll also be tasked with steering the TV channels’ digital presences.

“With more than 15 years in the Canadian industry, Michael brings a wealth of knowledge, ingenuity and expertise of the broadcast landscape to our team,” said Joe Tedesco SVP and general manager of DHX Television, in a release. “His proven ability to engage audiences and devise schedules that suit their lifestyles and viewing habits will raise the bar as we continue to reinvigorate our programming lineups.”

Most recently, Serafini served as interim executive director of content planning for CBC Television. Prior to that, he served as senior director, content planning and acquisitions.

Prior to CBC, he held senior roles at Shaw and CHUM.
