* Decode Entertainment has presold its new sci-fi cartoon Gizmo to YTV. The 26 x 30 series is a copro with Singapore’s Scrawl Studios and Agogo Entertainment in Hong Kong and is due for delivery this fall. Decode and YTV also recently inked a deal for the multi-platform property Urban Vermin.
* Cookie Jar Entertainment has sold its Spider Riders action cartoon to Kids’ WB! in the U.S., where it debuted on Jan. 20, and to Mediaset in Italy.
* TSN and its French sibling RDS have signed a multi-year agreement to air the NASCAR Busch series of races, which starts its 10-month, 35-race season on Feb. 17. The deal includes high-def broadcasts on TSN.
* BKN International has picked up the Canadian DVD distribution rights for 14 kids titles from Morningstar Entertainment, including its Kong: The Animated Series and the one-off Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. Meanwhile, Télé-Québec has signed a deal to air a number of BKN cartoon titles, including Robin Hood: Quest for the King and The Three Musketeers: Saving the Crown.
