Baroness Von Sketch Show starts production

The single-camera, all-female sketch comedy series from Frantic Films stars Carolyn Taylor, Meredith MacNeill, Aurora Browne and Jennifer Whalen.

Production is underway in Toronto on the Baroness von Sketch Show, a single-camera, all-female sketch comedy series from Frantic Films set to bow on CBC in summer 2016.

The series was created by and stars Carolyn Taylor (This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Dan for Mayor), Meredith MacNeill (This Hour has 22 Minutes, Book of Negroes), Aurora Browne (The Ron James Show) and Jennifer Whalen (The Ron James Show, This Hour Has 22 Minutes). The four comedians also serve as executive producers on the series, which will include six, 30-minute episodes in its first season. Jamie Brown also serves as executive producer along with the comedians.

Taylor told Playback Daily some of the four women attached to the project have been friends for over 20 years, working together on comedy projects like This Hour Has 22 Minutes and Second City. The four creators pitched the show to CBC, which was put into development shortly thereafter.

Baroness von Sketch Show will be shot in Toronto and the surrounding area until mid-October. The series will be shot entirely on location.
