CTV still top of the chart

CTV had the top five shows among BBM/Nielsen viewers for the week ending Feb. 11, though hockey ratings were up at CBC and Survivor: Fiji continued to perform for Global

Here are the national winners (for all persons 2+), according to BBM/Nielsen — Feb. 5-11.

Monday: CTV’s CSI: Miami measured the top audience of the night with an average of 2.9 million viewers in the 10 p.m. timeslot. Global’s Prison Break took the 8 p.m. slot with 1.65 million, although CTV’s Corner Gas raked in a close 1.62 million. In the 9 p.m. timeslot, CTV’s Law & Order: CI earned 1.4 million viewers, leading Global’s Heroes at 1.3 million.

Tuesday: CTV’s American Idol earned 3.1 million viewers in the 8 p.m. timeslot. Global’s House won the 9 p.m. slot with a 2.4 million average, against CTV’s Criminal Minds, which got 1.3 million that night. The 10 p.m. spot went to CTV’s Law & Order: SVU with slightly more than 2 million.

Wednesday: CTV took the 10 p.m. timeslot with an average 3.3 million viewers watching CSI: New York. The net also took the 9 p.m. slot with American Idol‘s 2.7 million average, along with the 8 p.m. slot, which delivered 1.5 million viewers for the return of Lost.

Thursday: CTV won the top spot with CSI, which clocked an average of 3.5 million at 9 p.m., while Global’s Deal or No Deal got 2.1 million. Global’s Survivor: Fiji raked in 2.6 million to win the 8 p.m. slot, although CTV’s Grey’s Anatomy earned a healthy 2.2 million for that hour. The 10 p.m. spot went to CTV’s ER, which measured 2 million viewers against Global’s Shark, which earned 1.5 million.

Friday: CTV’s Law & Order got the highest Friday night numbers with 1.7 million viewers at 10 p.m. and 1.6 million watching Ghost Whisperer at 8 p.m. Global’s closest contender for the 10 p.m. crowd was Numb3rs, which took in 1.1 million . The 9 p.m. timeslot was a close race, with CTV’s Close to Home hitting an average of 1.2 million viewers and Global getting 1.1 million for Las Vegas.

Saturday: CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada‘s got a strong hold on the top numbers for Saturday night. Airing from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., the net’s numbers measured 1.6 million viewers, up from 1.5 million the previous week.

Sunday: CTV won the Sunday night crown with an average 1.9 million viewers tuning in for Desperate Housewives at 9 p.m. The Grammy Awards on Global got 1.8 million on average, from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. CTV’s Criminal Minds earned a healthy 1.332 million viewers for its Sunday 8 p.m. broadcast.
