Veteran newswoman Paula Todd has joined CTV News, which on Wednesday announced that the former TVOntario regular will ‘take a leading role’ developing a new project for the top-ranked network.

‘Paula is recognized as one of Canada’s leading journalists. With her diverse journalistic background and her legal expertise, she’ll be an ideal fit,’ said CTV news boss Robert Hurst in a statement.

Todd is also a lawyer, and previously hosted and coproduced Person to Person on TVO. She also cohosted the educhannel’s news program Studio 2, which was cancelled during a programming overhaul in 2006.
