Veteran food critic Gael Greene’s racy tell-all book Insatiable is being primed by Robert Lantos’ Serendipity Point Films for Starz.
The one-hour series, still in the early stages of development, will be exec produced by Lantos and Rob Lee of L.A.-based Bayonne Entertainment, while Serendipity’s Ari Lantos and Mark Musselman will produce. No production start date has been announced.
Greene’s 2006 memoir chronicles her 40 years as the restaurant critic at New York magazine, along with her days at Studio 54 and infamous hookups with famed chefs and porn stars in the 1970s and ’80s.
‘Greene has been my guiding light to the great kitchens of the world. She has had a seminal influence on my senses, as well as my corpulence. It seems celestially ordained that I bring her character and her work to the screen,’ commented Lantos in a release.
‘To have Robert Lantos championing Insatiable and [Starz president] Chris Albrecht committed to shaping it as a series is like dancing with Fred Astaire and having Fredy Girardet cook your dinner,’ said Greene.
She recently appeared as a judge on reality competition Top Chef Masters, airing here on Food Network Canada.
