Select Cineplex Theatres will offer free tickets to the Remembrance Day screening of Highway Entertainment’s and Suddenly SeeMore Productions’ WWII plane doc Reunion of Giants, the company announced Thursday.
The doc, made with the help of the Hamilton, Ontario-based Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, charts the transatlantic crossing of VeRA and Thumper, the world’s last two airworthy World War II-era Avro Lancaster bombers.
Made last year, the doc begins in the hangar in the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum and follows VeRA (built in Malton, Ontario in 1945) through Goose Bay, Labrador, Iceland and finally to England.
In September, Cineplex will announce which theaters will be screening the doc, while free tickets will be made available on Oct. 2 ahead of the Nov. 11 opening.
Highway Entertainment and Suddenly SeeMore Productions are both Toronto-based prodcos, headed up by Adam Ivers and Morgan Elliott, respectively.
Fremantle holds the world rights to Reunion of Giants.
