The second half of sketch comedy series Sunnyside will bow on City channel on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 8 p.m., Rogers Media announced Tuesday as it announced its fall 2015 schedule.
The series, created by Dan Redican and Gary Pearson, previously aired on Thursday nights in a slot that put it head-to-head with CTV’s The Big Bang Theory. Season two will air as part of a Sunday night comedy block on City, following Bob’s Burgers and leading into Brooklyn Nine-Nine at 8:30 p.m. The series was originally slated to return in January 2016.
The fourth season of Mr. D is also set to bow on City on Thursday, Nov. 5 at 9 p.m. as part of a programming swap between the Rogers Media conventional channel and CBC. As part of the reciprocal deal, CBC will air Young Drunk Punk in fall 2015.
Sunnyside is executive produced by Anton Leo, Shane Corkery and Dan Bennett from Counterfit Pictures and Phyllis Lang from Buffalo Gal Pictures. Mr. D is produced by Topsail Productions and Gerard ADHD Entertainment, in association with CBC. Michael Volpe created the series along with Gerry Dee.
Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly indicated the second season of Sunnyside was to bow in September of 2015. It was in fact the second half of the first season. Playback regrets the error.
